Privacy Policy
The privacy policy that applied to GymMaster PRO 1.0, kept here for anyone still running that version.
Reproduced as published, without changes to its wording. It describes GymMaster PRO 1.0 and does not describe later versions — most importantly, newer versions have no Machines feature and request no Camera or Photos access, and they send a daily usage signal to an analytics service. For the current version, read the current privacy policy.
One statement below has been overtaken by events rather than changed: under Third-Party Services, the original text notes that the website was hosted using Google Sites. GymMaster Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 16, 2026
GymMaster is a local-first workout logging application for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains how GymMaster handles information when you use the app.
Information collected by the developer
GymMaster does not require an account and does not automatically transmit your workout information to the developer.
GymMaster does not include:
- Advertising
- Third-party analytics
- Tracking technologies
- A developer-operated data server
- Social networking features
- Sale of personal information
Information processed only on your device is not received or collected by the developer.
Workout information
GymMaster may store information you enter, including:
- Exercises, machines, and routines
- Workout entries and history
- Weights, repetitions, durations, and distances
- Machine settings and photos
- Workout and setup notes
- App preferences
This information is stored locally on your iPhone.
Private iCloud synchronization
If iCloud synchronization is available and enabled for your device, GymMaster may store workout information and machine photos in your private iCloud database so the information can synchronize between your Apple devices.
Apple operates iCloud and processes this information according to Apple’s terms and privacy policies. The developer does not operate a separate synchronization server and does not use synchronized information for advertising, analytics, or profiling.
You can manage iCloud through your Apple Account and iPhone settings.
Apple Health
Apple Health integration is optional and disabled until you enable it in GymMaster Settings and grant permission.
When enabled, GymMaster may:
- Save completed workouts to Apple Health
- Read workouts previously saved by GymMaster so they can be updated or removed
- Replace a GymMaster-created Health workout after you edit it
- Remove a GymMaster-created Health workout when requested
GymMaster does not read body weight or unrelated Health information. It does not send Apple Health information to the developer or use Health information for advertising, analytics, or marketing.
You can review or revoke GymMaster’s Health access through the Health app or iPhone Settings.
Camera and Photos
GymMaster requests Camera or Photos access only when you choose to add a machine photo.
Selected or captured images are processed for use within GymMaster. Source metadata is removed, and the image is resized and compressed before storage. A machine photo may synchronize through your private iCloud database when iCloud synchronization is available.
GymMaster does not send machine photos to the developer. You can use GymMaster without adding machine photos.
Notifications
Rest notifications are optional. GymMaster requests notification permission only when you enable the feature.
Notification scheduling information is stored on your device. Rest notifications are silent, and the in-app rest timer continues to work if notification permission is denied.
GymMaster may use Apple’s background notification services to support private iCloud synchronization. The developer does not use notifications for advertising or marketing.
Import and export
You may export your data as a .workoutlog package and choose where to save or share it. Export packages may contain workout information, notes, and machine photos.
Files you export are under your control. GymMaster cannot delete or protect copies after you save or share them outside the app.
When you import a package, GymMaster reads the package you select, validates it, and lets you review the proposed changes before applying them.
Data retention and deletion
Workout information remains on your device until you delete individual records, use Reset All Data, or remove the app.
Information synchronized through iCloud may remain in your private iCloud storage or on your other devices until it is deleted and those deletions synchronize.
GymMaster’s Reset All Data feature lets you choose whether GymMaster-created Apple Health workouts should also be removed. Health information may require separate removal through Apple Health if GymMaster no longer has the local information needed to verify ownership.
Exported files and copies you have shared must be deleted separately.
Support communications
If you contact the developer for support, the developer may receive information you voluntarily provide, such as:
- Your email address
- Device and iOS version
- GymMaster version
- Your description of a problem
- Screenshots or attachments you choose to send
Do not send workout exports, Health information, personal photos, or other sensitive information unless specifically requested and you are comfortable sharing it.
Support communications are used only to answer your request, investigate the reported issue, and improve GymMaster. They are not sold or used for advertising.
You may request deletion of support correspondence by contacting the developer, subject to any legal record-retention requirements.
Children’s privacy
GymMaster is not directed specifically to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated account or server.
Security
GymMaster uses Apple platform protections and limits access to information according to the permissions you grant. However, no storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for protecting access to your iPhone, Apple Account, exported files, and support emails.
Third-party services
GymMaster uses Apple system services where you choose or where required for app operation, including:
- iCloud and CloudKit
- Apple Health
- Notifications
- Camera and Photos
- App Store distribution services
Apple’s handling of information is governed by Apple’s privacy policies.
