Reporting a problem

Email gymmasterpro@icloud.com. A report is much easier to act on when it includes:

Please don't attach exports unless asked

A .workoutlog.zip package contains your real training records. A description and a screenshot are almost always enough to start, and an export can be requested later if it's genuinely needed.

Common questions

Where is my data kept?

On your device. With iCloud switched on it also syncs through your own private iCloud database. There is no GymMaster account and no GymMaster server. The privacy page covers this in full.

Do I need iCloud?

No. Continue Locally and Keep Sync Off keep everything on one device and stay in effect until you reconnect. Everything in the app works either way; you just don't get a second device.

My rest alert didn't arrive

Background alerts need Background notifications on in Settings → Rest Timer Notifications, and GymMaster allowed to notify you in iOS Settings. The in-app timer runs regardless. One timer only ever produces one alert, so if you're looking at the app you won't also get a banner.

Apple Health isn't showing my workouts

Reading and saving are separate switches under Settings → Apple Health. Reading starts from the day you turn it on and goes forward — use Backfill Apple Health for earlier history. Workouts GymMaster itself recorded are filtered out of what it reads back in.

How do I back up, or move to a new device?

Settings → Data Portability → Export writes a single .workoutlog.zip package you can keep anywhere. Importing one shows you what it will do before anything is written, and re-importing content you already have doesn't duplicate it. If you use iCloud, a second device picks your library up on its own.

I'm coming from an earlier version of GymMaster

GymMaster 2.0 keeps its own storage and never opens, renames or deletes the older version's files. If you have an export from the earlier version, import it from Settings → Data Portability.

What happened to Machines and machine photos?

GymMaster 2.0 has no Machines feature and requests no Camera or Photos access. How a machine was set up is now recorded on the exercise itself — Seat, Handle, Range and Setup notes, saved per workout, so changing a setting next week doesn't rewrite last week's record. Machine photos inside a package exported from an older version are read while that package is validated, but they are not restored, because there is nothing in 2.0 to hold them. Keep that older export if you want to keep the photos.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Reset All Data, which offers a backup first. Local data, the iCloud copy and any files you exported earlier are separate — clearing one doesn't clear the others.

Something I expected isn't on screen

Some controls are deliberately withheld when they'd be meaningless — a Total Time field on an exercise whose single timed Set already is the total, for instance. The guide's Something you expected isn't on screen lists these with the reason for each.

Requirements

GymMaster 2.0 runs on iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 18 or later. iPad supports portrait and landscape, including narrow multitasking windows; iPhone is portrait.
