Privacy
GymMaster records your training and keeps it on your device. This page says exactly what leaves it, and what doesn't.
The short version
- Your training data is stored on your device. With iCloud switched on it also syncs through your own private iCloud database.
- There is no GymMaster account and no GymMaster server holding your records.
- GymMaster sends one usage signal per day to an analytics service, carrying no training data of any kind.
- No advertising, no tracking across apps or websites, and nothing sold to anyone.
What GymMaster stores, and where
Exercises, routines, workouts, Day Logs, Sets (including the body weight you enter on a Set), notes, setup details and your preferences are written to databases inside the app's own storage on your device.
When iCloud is configured and available, your library and history sync through your private CloudKit database, which is managed by Apple under your Apple Account. GymMaster operates no server of its own, so there is nowhere else for a copy to be. Choosing Continue Locally or Keep Sync Off keeps everything on the one device until you explicitly reconnect.
Daily usage analytics
When you open GymMaster, it sends a single signal named appLaunched to TelemetryDeck, at most once per local calendar day per installation. Its purpose is to measure how many people use the app and which versions are in use.
- GymMaster attaches no parameters and no identifiers of its own. No exercise names, workout or Set counts, recorded dates, measurements, body data, notes or file names are included.
- The signal carries the analytics SDK's own standard metadata: app and build version, operating system and device model details, calendar fields, an event timestamp, and a vendor identifier the SDK derives and manages.
- Automatic session signals and session statistics are switched off. What you do inside the app is not instrumented — no screens, taps or features are reported.
- To avoid sending more than one signal a day, GymMaster keeps a single date on your device recording when it last submitted. That marker never leaves the device and is not part of any signal.
- If delivery fails, nothing is retried that day and nothing is shown to you.
In Apple's privacy terms this is declared as Product Interaction and Device ID collected for analytics, not linked to your identity and not used for tracking.
TelemetryDeck is the only third party GymMaster sends anything to, and it receives only the signal described above. It processes that signal as GymMaster's analytics provider and provides the same or equal protection for it as this policy; see TelemetryDeck's privacy policy.
Apple Health
Apple Health access is optional and off until you turn it on, and the two directions are separate settings.
- Saving workouts out writes workout start, end, duration and activity type for workouts GymMaster recorded. Day Logs are never eligible. Later edits and deletions reconcile the copy GymMaster wrote.
- Reading workouts in brings across workout summaries recorded by other apps, including energy, heart rate, recorded zone thresholds and time-in-zone durations where available.
- Imported workout history and zone data stay on your device. They are not synchronized through GymMaster's CloudKit store, and they leave only if you explicitly include them in a package you export.
- GymMaster does not change Health records written by other apps, and it neither reads nor writes body-composition data.
- Health data is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining, and is never shared with anyone, TelemetryDeck included.
- You can turn either direction off in GymMaster's Settings, and revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → GymMaster.
InBody reports
InBody reports you import from CSV files are stored only on your device. They are not synchronized through iCloud, and they leave only if you explicitly include them in a package you export.
Photos and camera
GymMaster 2.0 does not request photo-library or camera access. Images carried inside an imported package from an earlier version are validated as members of that package and are not added to Photos.
Notifications
Notification permission is requested only when you enable background rest alerts. Locked and background alerts use the system default notification sound and may vibrate according to your iOS settings. The in-app rest timer works whether or not permission is granted.
Diagnostics
GymMaster can retain a bounded set of technical events on your device — operation and result categories, timing, attempt counts, versions and short-lived correlation identifiers. They contain no workout content, photos, Health samples, account information or stable record and device identifiers.
Managed diagnostics are never sent anywhere automatically. They leave your device only inside a file you choose to export. This is separate from the daily usage signal described above.
Exports and sharing
Exports are files you create and control. A native package is a .workoutlog.zip containing real records, and the readable and AI-readable formats are plain text. Once you send one somewhere, it is governed by wherever you sent it — so treat an export as you would any other personal file.
If you contact support
Email sent to the address below reaches the developer with whatever you put in it: your email address, any device and version details you supply, your description of the problem, and any attachment you choose to send. It is used to answer you and for nothing else. Please don't attach exported packages unless they have been asked for — they contain your real training records.
Deleting your data
Settings → Reset All Data is a full factory reset of this installation: library, history, plans, preferences and diagnostics. It offers a backup first. Optional cleanup covers only the Apple Health copies GymMaster itself created.
With iCloud sync on, Reset All Data also deletes GymMaster's copy in your iCloud; with Keep Sync Off it clears only this device. You can also remove the iCloud copy yourself from iCloud storage management in iOS Settings, under your name. Removing the app and deleting files you exported earlier are separate acts.
The daily usage signal carries no identity of yours, so nothing in it can be matched to you for deletion. For any other question or request about your data, use the contact below.
Changes to this policy
Each version of this policy carries an effective date. When it changes materially, the previous version stays reachable so that anyone still running an older release of GymMaster can read the policy that applied to it.
